Written and illustrated by an Alaskan couple, this is the only children's book about RVing that we have found.

By Chuck Woodbury

When you think about it, a grandchild might wonder what Grandma and Grandpa do when they leave town in their RV.

Where do they go? What do they do?

Authors and illustrators Bernd and Susan Richter, RVers themselves, address these questions and others in this delightful book aimed at young readers who are curious about their grandparents' lifestyle.

"Grandma and Grandpa Love Their RV" is a terrific book that young readers will enjoy. The Richter's colorful illustrations tell the story of Grandma and Grandpa's motorhome journey from the time they pull out their driveway until they return home. "Grandma and Grandpa would love to take you along," the authors write. "Unfortunately, most of the time they are gone for too long to have you miss school or be away from your family and friends."

We think most youngsters with RVing grandparents would enjoy this book. Whether it's read out loud to the younger readers — who will probably enjoy the illustrations more than the text — or read by older kids themselves, the book should be a welcome present to grandkids interested in how their grandparents live their lives.

For RVers with grandchildren, this softcover book is a unique gift that can't be found in malls or most bookstores, and has a fun message for curious children.
